Innovating to drive economic recovery and create jobs

Fruit d’Or invests $17.5 million to increase capacity at its Plessisville plant

Plessisville, September 2, 2020 - Fruit d’Or, a world leader in the processing of organic cranberries and wild blueberries, is proud to announce a major investment of $17.5 million to increase the capacity of its Plessisville facility. Already recognized for its innovation and technological advances, Fruit d’Or will expand its plant, including by the addition of two new production lines. As Quebec’s economic recovery takes shape, Fruit d’Or’s commitment sends a strong signal to the economic community, in addition to creating 25 new jobs in the Centre-du-Québec region.

An increase in cranberry production by Quebec farms is expected over the next few years, and this project will ensure that this new growth can be processed right here. The project announced by Fruit d’Or will increase its production capacity in order to introduce, through a unique process, value-added products such as whole cranberries and cranberries with no added sugar.

The Québec flagship, which exports its products to more than 50 countries around the world, will celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2021.
