Reporting to the Senior Sales Director, the Account Director will participate in the development of our portfolio and drive commercial success across a range of nutraceutical applications. This role will create and drive business opportunities for nutraceutical ingredients, leading to the development of finished nutraceutical products. The Account Director will work closely with the wider Fruit d'Or team to overcome the technical and scientific challenges of projects. The role requires a strong strategic mindset and an agile approach to help the team focus its efforts where results will be greatest.
Responsibilities
Management of portfolio/customers under his responsibility (50%)
- Respond to customer needs (technical information, quotes, samples, complaints, etc.);
- Play a key role in forecasting customer sales;
- Prepare presentations for customers;
- Achieve sales targets and contribution margins;
- Responsible for collecting information and communicating with customers during problem resolution or complaint handling;
- Build objective business plans;
- Update customer data in CRM system and maintain KPIs;
- Expand relationships with existing customers by constantly proposing solutions that meet their objectives. Also, proactively create additional sales opportunities;
Develop new customers (50%)
- Prospect, target and win new customers by applying strategic sales methodology in the nutraceutical and natural health market;
- Develop an in-depth understanding of the competition, product lines, industry associations and influences in the nutraceutical market;
- Maintain market intelligence to identify business opportunities based on commercial agreements, financial conditions, geopolitical climate and regulatory standards;
- Participate in trade shows and industry events.
Work closely with internal teams
- Collaborate with other members of the nutraceutical sales team in the development of sales strategies, valorization of inputs and optimization of the division's profitability;
- Support product development teams by suggesting solutions based on customer requests.
- Participate in project management, when necessary, in conjunction with internal multidisciplinary teams.
Competencies
- Bachelor's degree in business administration or in a field related to health, nutrition ;
- 5 to 7 years' business development experience in the nutraceutical or related industry;
- Experience in medium/large organizations;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Salesforce, PowerBI, Nectari);
- Bilingual (English / French);
- Familiar with project management principles;
- Sales development skills;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to relate to professionals at all organizational levels;
- Good analytical, negotiating and influencing skills;
- Detail-oriented, organized and autonomous;
- Flexibility, initiative, autonomy and tolerance of ambiguity;
- Available to travel for work occasionally and to work flexible hours for events.
