The 2025 season looks promising for Quebec, with yields similar to or slightly below last year's. With a particularly dry August recording one of the lowest rainfall levels since 2021, fruit quality is excellent.

However, the cool weather this past month has limited fruit growth to its full potential compared to last year. Finally, although the size of the fruit is slightly smaller than in 2024, the quantity of fruit on the stems is high and will compensate for this decrease.
For the organic sector, lower pest pressure is boosting harvest potential despite the current below-average fruit size. Nevertheless, available inventory is limited given the ongoing challenges impacting organic management and harvests in previous years.
New Brunswick
New Brunswick also experienced drier weather in August. Nevertheless, favorable weather conditions early in the season helped maintain average yields for this region.
Massachusetts
Winter damage observed in this state has left its mark, with no improvement due to the drought conditions that have affected the territory. A negative impact on yields is expected, leading to forecasts of a slightly below-average harvest for Massachusetts.
Wisconsin
After a record harvest in 2024, Wisconsin is expected to see a decline in yields this year due to the biennial bearing phenomenon specific to certain varieties. Expected yields are average or slightly below average.

Market situation
Despite variable weather conditions across regions, the 2025 harvest looks positive overall, particularly in Canada in terms of fruit quality and quantity. However, the political context, the tariff situation, and growing demand for dried fruit are putting increased pressure on processing capacity.
